Kristy Ollerhead

Practicum Student

Kristy is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology from MacEwan University. Her clinical supervisor is Pamela Hillaby. Kristy’s previous work history includes working with children, families, and vulnerable populations. In these roles, Kristy has worked with clients who have experienced trauma, mental health concerns, substance use, poverty, and developmental disabilities. She is passionate about her work and advocacy in the mental health field. When she isn’t working, Kristy enjoys reading, hiking, playing video games, and spending time outdoors.

Kristy takes a client-centred approach to her work and focuses on empowerment, collaboration, respect, and resiliency. Kristy believes that the therapeutic alliance is of the utmost importance and that this is created through a caring, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. She believes each person has inherent strengths that foster resiliency and promote growth.
