Jennifer (she/her) is convinced people’s problems become solvable when their stories are heard and understood. Because she believes problems exist from a wholistic perspective, Jennifer has adapted a bio-psycho-social-spiritual-cultural framework of understanding in her counselling approach.
Jennifer’s degree in Intercultural Theology with a minor in Pastoral Care and Counselling was foundational in her more than ten years of working with people who struggle with addiction and mental health concerns.
As a practicum student, Jennifer’s clientele is expanded to include individuals, families and couples from ages 6 to 65+ with varying presenting issues in such areas as:
- Anxiety
- Boundaries
- Depression
- Emotional Regulation
- Grief and Loss
- Life Transitions
- Relationships
- Sleep
- Stress and Burnout
Some modalities Jennifer uses in sessions are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Faith Based Counselling. She prizes the use of genograms in understanding family relationship dynamics.
One of Jennifer’s favorite quotes is “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – A.A. Milne
