Alyssa Ryan, M.Sc.

Registered Psychologist

Alyssa completed her Master of Science in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology – Applied Emphasis at Concordia University of Edmonton. Prior to registering as a psychologist, Alyssa worked with high-risk children and families in a variety of roles, including caregiver, interventionist, program developer, and researcher. Alyssa and her partner spent 10 years providing support in their own home to high-risk teens, and respite to families with children with a variety of mental health needs. Alyssa considers her greatest educational accomplishment to be her master’s thesis which looked at the impact of mentoring relationships on the resiliency of foster children. Her continuing studies are currently focused on learning disorders and ADHD.

Alyssa’s (she/her) steady, playful, and down-to-earth style quickly puts people at ease. Alyssa’s approach to therapy and assessment is first and foremost, deeply respectful and humanistic. Alyssa loves supporting emerging professionals and has supervised master’s level therapists and provisional psychologists. Alyssa acts as the Supervision Coordinator for our supervising psychologists at Kells Counselling.
